Terms & Conditions

How we quote, book, complete and guarantee the work, in plain English.

These terms

These terms apply to work carried out by Bracknell Fencing LTD, 17 Jay Corner, Bracknell, Berkshire RG12 8HR. They should be read alongside the written quote you receive, which sets out the specific work, materials and duration agreed for your job.

Quotes and site visits

Site visits are free and carry no obligation. We do not price work over the phone from guesswork, because access, ground conditions and the position of the boundary all affect the job.

After the site visit you receive a tailored written quote, normally within 48 hours. Fence repairs start from £150 + VAT. A quote covers the work described in it; anything discovered on site that was not visible at the time of quoting, for example buried concrete or services in the post line, will be discussed with you before any additional work or cost is agreed.

Booking and deposits

No deposit is taken on jobs under £3,000. For jobs over £3,000 a deposit is agreed in writing before the work starts. Once you accept the quote we agree a start date with you and confirm the expected duration of the work.

Payment

Payment is due on the day the work is completed, once you have seen the finished job. We accept credit and debit card, bank transfer and cash. Where VAT applies it is shown on the quote and invoice.

Guarantees

Fence repairs carry a 1 year workmanship guarantee. New fencing and decking installations carry up to 5 years, depending on the style installed; the guarantee period for your job is stated on your quote.

Guarantees cover our workmanship. They do not cover damage caused by extreme weather beyond the design of the fence, third-party damage, alterations made by others, vehicle impact, or a lack of ordinary maintenance such as re-treating timber where required.

Insurance

We hold £5,000,000 public liability insurance and employers' liability cover. Our Checkatrade profile can be read before you commit to any work.

Access, boundaries and permissions

You are responsible for confirming that the boundary being worked on is yours, and for obtaining any permission needed from a neighbour, freeholder, landlord, managing agent or local authority, including where a height restriction or planning requirement applies to a front boundary.

We need reasonable access to the working area and, where relevant, space for materials and for the removal of old fencing and waste. Please make us aware of any private drains, cables, irrigation or other services near the fence line.

Work we do not carry out

We do not install automated or electric gates. If your project needs that, we will tell you at the enquiry stage rather than take the job on.

Timescales and weather

The duration on your quote is our honest expectation for the job. Ground conditions and severe weather can occasionally move a date; where that happens we contact you and agree the next available slot.

Cancellation and complaints

If you need to cancel or move a booked date, contact us as early as you can so materials and labour can be rescheduled.

If something is not right, ring 07939 405646 or email fencingbracknell@outlook.com and speak to us first. Most issues are resolved by us coming back out.

Governing law

These terms and any work carried out under them are governed by the law of England and Wales.
